How to Prepare for Your Session

Whether this is your first recording or your fiftieth, a little preparation goes a long way. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your studio time.

✅ What to Bring

📝 Your Notes, Script, or Outline

Even a basic outline helps keep things on track. Print it out or bring it on a tablet/laptop — whichever helps you stay focused.

💻 Your Devices (if needed)

If you want to reference visuals, notes, or show slides:

  • Our studio TV accepts HDMI (bring your adapter if needed).

  • Free WiFi is available — ask for login when you arrive.

🔌 USB Drive (optional)

We provide cloud file delivery, but if you want to leave with files in-hand, bring a USB stick (at least 32GB).

💧 Comfort Items

We offer both cold and room temperature water. You’re welcome to bring coffee, tea, or a snack — just nothing too noisy for the mic.

👚 Quiet Clothing

Avoid fabrics or accessories that make noise (e.g. bracelets, windbreakers, corduroy). Simple, quiet attire is ideal.

🎙️ How to Prepare

1. Test Any Equipment You're Bringing

If you're using your own laptop, tablet, or special mic, double-check:

  • Your device powers on and is charged

  • Any software (notes apps, playback, etc.) is updated and functioning

  • Your files are accessible offline if needed

2. Review Your Content Plan

Even if your show is casual, know:

  • Your episode’s topic and structure

  • Intro/outro format

  • Any talking points or segments

3. Silence Unwanted Interruptions

Before recording:

  • Put phones on airplane mode

  • Silence smartwatches

  • Close unused apps and notifications if using your own device

4. Coordinate with Guests (if applicable)

Let them know:

  • Where to go

  • What to bring

  • How to dress

  • That we’ll help them get comfortable with the mic setup

5. Arrive On Time

We structure sessions with precision. Arriving at your scheduled time helps us reset and prepare the space just for you.
